My work is my artist’s statement.

I am fascinated by the mediums that I work in. I love the exploration that printmaking, particularly etching, affords me. But often I prefer the directness of painting - more immediate than making a copper plate and pulling prints. I use the mediums that are available to me to suit the mood and to push my ideas until I feel satisfied.

I often leap before I look, which is one of the artist’s great prerogatives, and perhaps is what earns many of us the reputation of “being out there.” But the risks are essential in the creative process. Push the medium, push the message, use all of the tools available and either ruin it or arrive at a new and unexpected place - a completion as well as a beginning.

I certainly hope that you will bring your own vision to the images you see on these pages, forget my words, and let the work speak to you in your own language.
